課程概述

＊本課程上課第一週會說明加選授權碼給予方式。＊確定修習本課程之同學，第一週務必到課。

本課程以不列顛群島為地理背景，以群島內多民族、多王國的互動為核心主題，從長時段的歷史發展（中古至近代），觀察英格蘭霸權的興起，以及英格蘭與威爾斯、蘇格蘭、愛爾蘭相愛相殺的歷程，也探討個別的國族認同與不列顛認同的建立，期能對現在的聯合王國（the UK）有更深入的認識。

課程目標

本課程除引領學生認識英格蘭與不列顛的歷史之外，也將透過教師授課、閱讀、課堂討論、書面與口頭報告等多元方式，訓練學生聽、說、讀、寫全方位的敏銳度。修習本課程，預計可增進以下幾項核心能力：
1. 對歷史知識的瞭解與反思。
2. 閱讀與蒐集英文材料（含書籍、論文、圖片等）的能力。
3. 與同儕討論及辯論的能力。
4. 統整知識並以文字和口語表達的能力。

課程要求

1. 本課程每週有指定閱讀材料，偶有短篇書面作業，應於上課前完成並如期繳交。
2. 課程參與：本課程前兩節以教師授課為主，第三節為討論課，修課學生應積極參與兩者。凡缺席教師授課達3次或討論課達3次者，「課程參與」之分數以零分計（課程評量方式請見下方）。另請注意：上課請準時到達教室，超過15分鐘未到者視為遲到；遲到3次視同缺席1次。
3. 課程循序漸進，請帶著信心與同學一起成長，如遇困難，請適時向老師反映。
